एमपी इलेक्शन: सर्वे की कोख से निकली लिस्ट

  Kamal Nath is going out of way to prove he is not anti-Hindu MP Assembly Election Update: 14 October 2023 NK SINGH कमलनाथ के प्लान के मुताबिक काँग्रेस की लिस्ट इस दफा सर्वे-नाथ ने बनाई है। प्रदेश के नेताओं में आम तौर पर सहमति थी कि लिस्ट इस बार सर्वे के आधार पर बनेगी। पर क्या यह महज संयोग है कि यह लिस्ट राहुल गांधी के गेम-प्लान के मुताबिक भी है? वे अपनी पार्टी के क्षत्रपों के कार्टेल को ध्वस्त करना चाहते हैं, जो 10-15 एमएलए के बूते पर प्रदेश की पॉलिटिक्स चलाते हैं। सर्वे की कोख से निकली लिस्ट कमोबेश जीत की संभावना के आधार पर बनी है। एनपी प्रजापति जैसे अपवादों को छोड़कर कोई सप्राइज़ नहीं। बीजेपी की लिस्ट देखते हुए, काँग्रेस इस बार फूँक-फूक कर कदम रख रही थी। भाजपा उम्मीदवारों की पांचों लिस्ट 2018 के मुकाबले काफी बेहतर थी। नाम दिल्ली ने तय किए, प्रदेश के किसी भी नेता के प्रभाव से परे। चयन का आधार गुटबाजी नहीं, जीत की संभावना रही। इसलिए, दोनों तरफ के उम्मीदवारों का लाइन-अप देखकर लगता है, मुकाबला कांटे है। टिकट न मिलने से निराश नेताओं की बगावत का दौर शुरू हो गया है। यह हर चुनाव में होता...

Karanth on a charge of attempting to burn to death Vibha Mishra, the pretty 27-year-old heroine of his drama troupe at Bhopal last week has rocked the world of art. He had joined Bharat Bhavan, the lake-side House of Arts' at Bhopal, four years ago.  Although Karanth has dabbled in films and produced nationally-acclaimed works like "Chomana Duddi" and "Kedu", he is better known as a theatre director and playwright. A diploma-holder from the National School of Drama, Delhi, and the Asian Theatre Institute, he started his career with the famous "Gubbi" company in his native Karnataka. Case against Karanth for bid to kill actress

NK SINGH The Bhopal police on Sunday registered a case against Mr B. V. Karanth, director of the Madhya Pradesh Rangmandal, the state Government- backed repertory, in connection with the alleged attempt to murder a young and pretty actress of his troupe. The case, registered under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of an offence or giving false information), has caused a sensation in the town, particularly in cultural circles. Mr Karanth, a prominent theatre personality, once headed the prestigious National School of Drama. He is also chairman of the MP Film Development Corporation, a state government undertaking. The actress, 27-year-old Ms Vibha Mishra, received near-fatal burns at her residence in the exclusive Professors' Colony on Saturday afternoon. Bride burning cases: some families are repeat offenders

NK SINGH The burning to death of newly-wed brides is on the increase in Madhya Pradesh. Though exact figures are not available, according to newspaper reports half a dozen such cases were registered in the State during the last two months. The police recently arrested a naib tehsildar of Ujjain, Mr Om Prakash Sharma, in connection with the death last month of his daughter-in-law. Mrs Alka Sharma, who had been married to Mr Divya Prakash Sharma, last May. Twenty-year-old Alka had died shortly after sustaining third-degree burns. Police said she had been harassed in connection with her dowry and a case under Section 306 IPC was registered after recording the statements of the witnesses.  The police have also taken into possession certain letters written by the father-in-law of the deceased to Mr R. NK SINGH Notes, notes everywhere. Crisp, fresh and smelling of printer's ink and riches. This is the scene at the Government-run bank mote press at Dewas, a fast-emerging industrial town near Indore. But, alas, you can't simply pick up any of these, or even a single one, and walk away unnoticed! The security arrangements are too tight for that. "It is a foolproof arrangement," said PS Shivaraman, general manager of the press, which is one of the two plants other is at Nasik - printing currency notes on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India. However, like every good security printer, he declined to give further details. "The security of the security is in keeping it secure." NK SINGH As a not-so-distinguished member of the Fourth Estate, I am used to policemen scowling at me but never before in my career had any policeman refused to meet me. "Our investigating officer is very busy", said Mr Surendra Kumar, the burly, six-footer SP of Indore. I had called on him to gather information about the recent sensational arrest of a prominent Indore doctor on the charge of allegedly raping one of his patients while "examining" her in the privacy of the clinic. I have been trying to meet the concerned officer, without any success, for the last month. But he avoided me like the plague.  Incidentally, there is another case pending in the court in which two police officers, along with some others, have been accused of shielding the doctor involved in the rape case.
